Bakery fined for overcharging

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) The district administration imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on a bakery for overcharging on consumable items.

According to a spokesperson, a citizen lodged a complaint at the Assistant Commissioner’s office, alleging that a bakery was selling cold drinks and water bottles above the officially notified prices.

Acting promptly, Assistant Commissioner Daska, Sadia Jafar, visited the bakery along with the receipt provided by the complainant.

During the inspection, the violation was confirmed, and a fine was imposed on the spot.

The Assistant Commissioner warned that strict action would continue against those involved in overcharging, emphasizing that no one would be allowed to violate consumer protection laws.
