Balochistan CM forms committee to address Union Councils issues

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, met with chairpersons and representatives of local government union councils on Wednesday to discuss challenges faced at the grassroots level.

During the meeting, the representatives highlighted various problems confronting union councils. In response, the Chief Minister directed the establishment of a high-level committee headed by the Secretary Finance, with the Secretary Local Government also included. The committee will conduct a detailed review of the issues, prepare a comprehensive report, and present actionable recommendations to ensure effective solutions at the local level.

Sarfraz Bugti assured the representatives that the government would take practical and feasible steps to resolve genuine problems faced by union councils. He emphasized that while the government is already making progress on several demands raised by the representatives, no commitments will be made that cannot be realistically fulfilled. “All legitimate demands will be considered seriously, and effective measures will be taken to address them,” he said.
