Balochistan CM inaugurates digital dashboard and publications to strengthen policy-making

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, inaugurated the Digital Dashboard and Publications of the Bureau of Statistics under the Planning and Development Department, marking a significant step toward evidence-based policy-making and modernized development planning in the province.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by provincial ministers, members of the provincial assembly, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Zahid Saleem, and other senior officials.

During the briefing, officials explained that the digital dashboard integrates comprehensive and consolidated data from 17 different sectors, including detailed information on development projects. The system is designed to make policy formulation and decision-making more effective and transparent. It was further revealed that two new data reports will be added annually to strengthen the information system.

The meeting also reviewed overall development and growth trends across various sectors since 2010. Additionally, data on government job vacancies and applicants was presented.

In a unique gesture, Chief Minister Bugti personally contacted a candidate identified in the database — Muhammad Ayaz from Mastung — who had applied for jobs in 45 different departments.

The Chief Minister praised his perseverance and announced a government job for him during the call.

Chief Minister Bugti hailed the launch of the digital dashboard as a milestone achievement, emphasizing that access to reliable data enables the government to design more effective policies in the public interest. He reiterated that timely and accurate planning is essential for progress and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equitable development across all sectors.

He also congratulated Provincial Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, the Additional Chief Secretary, and the Planning and Development team for their efforts. In recognition of their outstanding performance in compiling data and preparing the dashboard, the Chief Minister announced commendation certificates and cash awards for the team.

Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed that the Balochistan government will continue to promote transparency, merit, and the effective use of modern technology to accelerate development and ensure better public service delivery.
