In a landmark step toward educational reforms and modernization, the Balochistan government has officially launched the province’s first Digital School Census and a modern Attendance Management Information System

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) In a landmark step toward educational reforms and modernization, the Balochistan government has officially launched the province’s first Digital School Census and a modern Attendance Management Information System.

The Digital School Census will compile comprehensive data from all public schools across the province, including infrastructure details, building conditions, number of classrooms, student enrollment figures, and teacher information.

Officials added that this initiative will enable accurate planning, ensure efficient resource allocation, and strengthen transparency in the education sector.

The Attendance Management Information System will allow real-time monitoring of administrative officers’ attendance and performance through an online platform. This is expected to enhance accountability, improve governance standards, and promote effective oversight of the education system.

According to government representatives, these digital systems are the result of the tireless efforts and professional expertise of the Performance Management Cell team, which played a pivotal role in turning this vision into reality.

In a unique and encouraging gesture, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti invited top-performing district officials from the recent school enrollment campaign to inaugurate the new systems instead of doing so himself.

Deputy Commissioner Humaira Baloch of Lasbela (first position) and Deputy Commissioner Hazrat Wali Kakar of Sherani (second position) were called on stage to formally launch the initiatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Bugti reaffirmed the government’s commitment to merit, performance, and transparency.

He emphasized that such measures not only recognize outstanding contributions but also set the foundation for modernizing the entire education system.

He pledged that reforms in the education sector would continue, ensuring that children in Balochistan receive quality education aligned with contemporary standards.
