Ban on bathing in Hub Canal imposed, more than 35 violators arrested

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2026) Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi has directed the district administration and police to strictly monitor compliance with the ban on bathing in the Hub Canal.

According to a handout issued by the Commissioner Karachi Office, the Deputy Commissioner submitted a report to the Commissioner regarding implementation of the ban. The report said that Manghopir Police are taking action against those violating government orders and have arrested more than 35 violators. FIRs have been registered against the arrested individuals under Section 188 PPC.

All citizens have been strictly warned to avoid going to the canal area, bathing, swimming, or gathering in crowds there. Immediate legal action without any concession is being taken against all violators.

Through the handout, citizens have been advised to refrain from bathing in the Hub Canal. Parents have also been urged to keep an eye on their children and prevent them from going near the canal to protect them from any untoward incident and to avoid legal action.
