Bannu Police carry out search & combing operation

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) Bannu Police carried out a search and combing operation against possible hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij in the difficult mountainous areas of Sub-Division Wazir.

This important search and combing operation was carried out in light of the vision of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed and the special orders of DIG Bannu Region Sajjad Khan.

The operation was led by DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi himself, while a large contingent of Bannu police, including DSP (CTD Bannu), DSP Saddar, DSP Sub-Division Wazir, Domail, Township, Wazir and Ahmadzai SHOs, RRF, QRF squad, District Security Branch and Elite Commandos participated.

All the police teams were fully equipped with modern weapons and protective equipment.

During the operation, comprehensive search operations were conducted in sensitive and difficult areas of Sub-Division Wazir, including Karak Boundary, Shaheedan Adjacent Area, Spina Tangi, Kam Chashma, Burghanto and Lakarai.

During the operation, suspicious shelters established in the mountainous areas, which could allegedly be used as temporary shelters by terrorists, were demolished.

Police teams meticulously checked the suspects and vehicles, while houses were also searched in some places.

Bannu Police is expanding the scope of search and intelligence-based operations in the area to ensure peace and order are maintained at all times.
