Bilawal Bhutto welcomes increase in salaries, pensions, BISP allocation

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on Friday lauded the government's efforts in the Federal budget, particularly the increase in salaries and pensions for government employees.

Speaking to a private television channel, Bilawal said that despite economic challenges and the prevailing regional situation, the government had presented a unique budget.

He also welcomed the enhanced allocation for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), stating that the PPP appreciates the government's decision to increase funding for the social welfare initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable segments of society.

Commenting on the role of the provinces, Bilawal said that provincial governments are prepared to contribute funds for national security

and the country's defense when needed. The PPP chairman further commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the government's economic team for formulating the budget under difficult circumstances.
