BISE Lahore wins All Pakistan Inter-Boards Hockey Championship 2025–26

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) The Inter-Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), through its subcommittee, the Inter-Board Sports Committee (IBSC), successfully organized the All Pakistan Inter-Boards Hockey Championship 2025–26.

The Championship hosted by the board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore on Friday, brought together talented student-athletes from 12 educational boards across Pakistan, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Multan, the Punjab Board of Technical Education, Bannu, Mardan, and Peshawar, reflecting strong national participation and unity through sports. In a highly competitive tournament, BISE Lahore secured first position, Gujranwala claimed second place, while Peshawar finished third.

The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director IBCC, along with distinguished personalities, including Shahbaz Senior, Pervez Sandela, Khawaja Junaid, Faisal Farid, Rizwan Nazir, and Masood ul Rehman. Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Mallah highlighted that IBCC, as a national coordinating body, places strong emphasis on co-curricular development alongside academics. He stated that the commission, through IBSC, organizes more than 30 inter-board sports events annually at national and international levels for both boys and girls, ensuring equal opportunities and promoting healthy competition among students.

He further emphasized that promoting hockey remains a key priority, particularly in light of his active role with the Pakistan Hockey Federation, which aims to revive the national game and reconnect youth with Pakistan’s rich sporting legacy.

He reiterated IBCC’s vision to institutionalize a strong sports culture in schools and colleges, fostering discipline, teamwork, leadership, and physical well-being as part of holistic student development. Dr. Mallah appreciated the outstanding efforts of BISE Lahore for hosting the championship with exemplary arrangements and professionalism. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Organizing Secretary, Dr. Badar Mohy ud Din, whose effective coordination ensured the smooth conduct and success of the event.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment by IBCC to further strengthen sports integration within the education system, encouraging students across Pakistan to actively participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to a vibrant, healthy, and progressive society.
