British envoy praises Pakistan-made FIFA world cup football

British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, has praised footballs made in Sialkot for the FIFA World Cup.

She said these footballs reflect high quality workmanship and a strong sporting tradition in Pakistan. Her comments were shared in a documentary titled “Made in Pakistan, Sialkot to FIFA,” which highlights the importance and history of Pakistan made footballs in global sports.

She added that footballs made in Pakistan have been used in major international tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup. According to her, these products also carry a sense of history and national pride for Pakistan.

International outlets have also acknowledged Pakistan role in global sports manufacturing. It is reported that around 70 percent of the world’s footballs are produced in Sialkot, making the city an important part of the global supply chain.

At the same time, Pakistan football has also received positive news on the international stage. The national team has been invited to take part in the first FIFA ASEAN Cup, which will be held in Indonesia from September 21 to October 6.

The tournament will include strong teams from across the region, including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

The Pakistan Football Federation confirmed the invitation from FIFA. This marks an important step for Pakistan football, as the team will compete at a higher international level outside World Cup qualifiers.
