QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Wednesday said that Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS) would soon start MPhil programs in in various disciplines to ensure quality and performance in medical education.

Chairing the sixth Senate meeting of BUMHS, he said the arrangements were being finalized to launch the higher education degreee in modern medical fields and to produce professional experts.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Justice Gul Hassan Tareen of the Balochistan High Court, Vice Chancellor Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Lehri, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Balochistan Abdul Nasir Dotani, Additional Secretary Education Jahanzeb Mandokhel, Higher Education Commission representative Professor Dr.

Zahoor Bazai and Registrar Bolan Medical University Aurangzeb Kasi, along with all the members of the Senate.

He said that they were keeping a close eye on all public sector universities to improve their ranking. He hoped that Vice Chancellor BUMHS, Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Lehri and his entire team would continue their efforts for the betterment of the institution.

The Governor emphasized that international standards must be maintained in higher education to ensure higher education accessible and affordable for all.

Several important decisions considering suggestions and recommendations of the participants of the sixth Senate meeting of Bolan Medical University were also taken in the meeting.
