FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) Divisional Commissioner and Administrator Municipal Corporation (MCF) Raja Jahangir Anwar said that MCF has decided to frame formal by-laws for the establishment and regulation of weekly bazaars in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz to bring the entire process of organizing such markets within a proper legal framework.
Chairing a meeting, he reviewed arrangements and future planning for weekly markets across the city.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that weekly bazaars set up at various locations should be transformed into modern markets providing better facilities to vendors and visitors.
He said that the markets must be equipped with essential amenities including clean drinking water, proper parking arrangements, lighting, security guards, paved spaces and washrooms to ensure convenience for the public.
He directed the relevant departments to prepare a detailed draft and terms and conditions for organizing the bazaars so that the system could be implemented in a structured and transparent manner.
This initiative would improve management of weekly markets, provide better facilities to traders and shoppers, and ensure that the markets operate under clear regulations for the benefit of citizens, he added.
