LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jul, 2026) Punjab Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth said on Wednesday that the C&W Department had completed the construction of 1,134 roads across Punjab within 75 days, exceeding its target of 1,000 roads set for June 30.
Chairing a review meeting, the minister said the department’s field formations achieved the milestone through round-the-clock efforts, strong coordination and teamwork, completing an additional 134 roads beyond the original target.
The meeting, attended by Secretary Communication and Works Raja Jahangir Anwar, Special Secretary, Additional Secretaries, Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers, reviewed the progress of ongoing development schemes and assessed the achievement of departmental targets.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Appreciating the performance of officers and field teams, Bharth said the achievement demonstrated that even the most challenging goals could be accomplished through hard work, honesty and collective effort.
He directed the department to pursue Phase-II development targets with the same commitment and instructed all field formations to complete road line marking and installation of signboards on the newly constructed roads within the next 10 days.
The minister said providing safe, high-quality and modern road infrastructure to the people of Punjab remained the government’s foremost priority, adding that the provincial government was committed to delivering timely and effective public relief through sustainable development projects.
