CCTV surveillance linked to Safe City system for Muharram security

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) The District Administration Rawalpindi has linked CCTV cameras installed at all main imambargahs and along traditional Muharram procession routes with the Safe City Command and Control System to ensure effective surveillance and enhanced security during Muharram-ul-Haram.

Presiding over a meeting with licence holders of Muharram processions to review security arrangements, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Maleeha Sahar said the district administration was utilising all available resources to ensure the safety and convenience of mourners.

She urged licence holders to extend full cooperation to the administration in maintaining the prescribed code of conduct and promoting an atmosphere of harmony and brotherhood.

Sahar said all organisers would be required to strictly observe the approved timings of processions and religious gatherings, adding that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.

The licence holders expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the district administration and assured full compliance with government directives, as well as continued cooperation with the authorities.
