LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) A dignified and spiritually uplifting ceremony was held on Saturday at Mazar-e-Iqbal in connection with Marka-e-Haq, paying rich tribute to the poet-philosopher of the East,Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan enthralled the audience with a soulful rendition of “Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua” along with other verses of Iqbal. Students of Government College University Lahore also presented selected poetry, while Maimoona Sajid received appreciation for her performance of “Har Lahza Hai Momin Ki Nai Aan Nai Shaan”.
Speakers highlighted Iqbal’s philosophy of Khudi and the Two-Nation Theory, stating that the success of Marka-e-Haq reflects the realisation of his vision. They also paid tribute to the armed forces for their sacrifices and role in national defence.
The ceremony reflected strong sentiments of national unity, ideological commitment and patriotism, with speakers describing Iqbal’s philosophy as a guiding light for the younger generation.
The event concluded with special prayers for the peace, progress and stability of the country.
The ceremony was attended by vice chancellors and education experts from various universities, including Vice Chancellor Shahid Munir of University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Principal Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Principal Dr. Iram of Kinnaird College for Women University, Pro-Rector Dr. Ejaz Ullah Cheema of University of Management and Technology, Dean Dr. Baseera Ambreen of University of the Punjab, Dean Dr. Rehana of Lahore College for Women University, Dean Dr. Shahzad Hussain of Government College University Lahore, Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Nizam of Superior University, and Professor Dr. Nadeem Jaffar, who also addressed the gathering.
