Chiniot police arrest five drug dealers, seize hashish and alcohol in district-wide crackdown

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chiniot police on Thursday launched a robust crackdown on drug peddlers, arresting five suspects from different areas of the district.

Police officials, led by SHO City Police Station Sub-Inspector Mudassar Shahbaz, recovered 1,220 grams of hashish and over 100 liters of alcohol from the possession of the accused. Cases have been registered under narcotics laws at the City Police Station, with further investigations ongoing.

Naveed Atif said the operation is part of practical steps being taken to protect future generations from the menace of drugs. He emphasized that a special district-wide campaign is underway to ensure offenders are punished through thorough investigation and enforcement.
