CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) A training workshop aimed at fostering positive attitudes among police personnel towards the public was held at the District Police Office (DPO) Chiniot on Wednesday on the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Karim. The session brought together senior police officers, religious scholars, doctors, investigation officers and other personnel.
Speakers at the workshop highlighted the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif regarding respectful and courteous treatment of citizens. Participants were sensitised to the importance of professionalism, empathy and accountability while dealing with the public.
Police officers and personnel were instructed to ensure that citizens visiting police stations and offices are treated with kindness and dignity. Emphasis was laid on promoting positive policing practices and building trust between law enforcement agencies and the community.
Addressing the participants, DPO Chiniot Dr Naveed Atif said that all possible measures would be taken to bring about a meaningful change in police station culture. He added that such training programmes would continue in phases to reinforce a service-oriented approach within the force.
