CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, practical measures are underway to ensure law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram, officials said on Tuesday.

In this regard, a training workshop was organized at Police Lines Chiniot under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif for volunteers of the City Circle. The session was conducted by Elite Force instructors, who delivered lectures on security standard operating procedures (SOPs) to be followed during Muharram.

Participants were briefed on physical search techniques, proper use of metal detectors, and their role in ensuring effective screening arrangements at religious gatherings and processions.

The training also included demonstrations on search procedures and response mechanisms in case of any unforeseen situation.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said such training workshops would continue to enhance the capacity of volunteers and strengthen security arrangements during Muharram. He reiterated that all available resources would be utilized to maintain peace and law and order throughout the holy month.
