Cloudy Karachi, rainy Punjab: Weather takes a pleasant turn

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cloudy weather in Karachi, with chances of drizzle and light rain in some areas of the city.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.5°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to remain around 35°C. The humidity level has been recorded at 75%.

Winds are currently blowing at a speed of around 11 kilometres per hour, while gusty winds ranging between 30 and 35 kilometres per hour are also expected in different parts of the city.

Meanwhile, intermittent rainfall continued across several areas of Punjab and Islamabad, providing relief from hot and humid weather and improving conditions in several regions.

In Shakargarh, Kartarpur and surrounding areas, rain continued at intervals, while several WAPDA feeders tripped due to rainfall, affecting electricity supply in some areas. The showers brought a noticeable drop in temperature and reduced humidity.

In Attock and nearby areas, rainfall continued late into the night and persisted for several hours. The rain made the weather pleasant, although water accumulated on some roads due to continuous showers.

Authorities said the current weather system is expected to remain active for the next three days, with rescue and relevant departments placed on alert to respond to any emergency situation, including possible urban flooding and water accumulation.

Islamabad also received rainfall for the second consecutive day, with intermittent showers continuing overnight. Heavy rain was reported in parts of the capital during the early morning hours, followed by light drizzle in several areas.

The rainfall transformed the views of the Margalla Hills, where clouds covered the hilltops, creating scenic weather conditions. The pleasant atmosphere also increased water inflow into Rawal Dam, while birds and ducks were seen around the area, adding to the beauty of the surroundings.
