CM Sarfraz Bugti assures full support for acid attack victim doctor

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jun, 2026) Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has expressed solidarity with the family of the female doctor who was subjected to an acid attack in Quetta. In a telephonic conversation with the victim’s father on Saturday, the chief minister inquired about her condition and assured every possible support from the provincial government.

Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar said that the victim was being provided with the best possible medical facilities, and the government would bear all treatment expenses. He confirmed that arrangements had been finalized for the doctor’s transfer to Karachi via air ambulance to ensure advanced medical care. A team of specialist doctors and medical staff will accompany her during the transfer, he said and added, the chief minister has directed the immediate arrest of the culprit and ordered strict legal action in accordance with the law.

He emphasized that no leniency would be shown to those involved in such heinous acts. Minister Kakar added that the government would continue to provide complete medical and administrative assistance until the victim fully recovers.

Bakht Muhammad Kakar said, investigations into the incident are underway, with law enforcement agencies utilizing all available resources to apprehend the suspect. He stressed that ensuring the safety of female doctors, medical staff and patients was the government’s top priority. He reiterated that those responsible for spreading fear and committing such crimes would be exposed and punished with the strictest legal measures.
