Commissioner Hazara directs action on fare discrepancies, fuel availability and rain emergencies

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Hazara Division, Fayyaz Ali Shah Saturday chaired a video link meeting with Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of all districts of the region to review the passage fares and ongoing rain spell.

During the meeting, the Commissioner issued clear directives to the DCs to conduct an immediate assessment of passenger fares. The assessment is to be carried out through Assistant Commissioners and Tehsildars, focusing on the discrepancy between the official fare lists issued by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Abbottabad and the fares actually being collected from passengers. The DCs were ordered to compile a comprehensive report detailing this difference and submit it to the Commissioner's office by evening.

In addition, Commissioner Shah directed all Deputy Commissioners to personally visit petrol pumps across their respective districts to evaluate the availability and current stock of fuel. They were also instructed to gather feedback from the public regarding the impact of the recent price hikes on daily life.

Addressing the ongoing rain spell, the Commissioner ordered all field officers to remain on high alert. He stressed that any damage or incident resulting from the rains must be reported immediately to the Commissioner's office. He urged all relevant departments to stay active and proactive, emphasizing that precautionary measures must be ensured to deal with any unforeseen situation in a timely manner.
