Commissioner Hyderabad Chairs ERM meeting to ascertain first day polio performance

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) On the first day of the ongoing Polio Eradication Campaign, Evening review meeting(ERM) was convened in District Hyderabad under the chairmanship of Fayaz Hussain Abbasi, Commissioner Hyderabad Division, and Zain-ul-Aabdin Memon, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad.

The meeting was attended by Michael Gallaway from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

It was co-chaired by Pir Ghulam Hussain, District Health Officer Hyderabad, and Saba Israr, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II.

During the session, participants reviewed the progress of Day 01 activities of the Polio campaign, assessed field performance, and identified gaps requiring immediate attention.

Emphasis was placed on ensuring full coverage of all targeted children, strengthening monitoring mechanisms, and addressing operational challenges in high-risk and hard-to-reach areas.

The chair reiterated the importance of coordinated efforts among district administration, health teams, partner organizations, and law enforcement agencies to achieve the goal of a polio-free Hyderabad. Strict instructions were issued to all concerned departments to maintain vigilance, ensure accountability, and maximize outreach during the campaign.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work collectively towards the successful eradication of polio from the district.
