Commissioner Karachi inspects Green Line BRT Phase-II project

Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi on Monday inspected the ongoing work on the Green Line BRT Phase-II project under construction from Numaish to Municipal Park, Jaama Cloth Market on M.A. Jinnah Road

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th May, 2026) Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi on Monday inspected the ongoing work on the Green Line BRT Phase-II project under construction from Numaish to Municipal Park, Jaama Cloth Market on M.A. Jinnah Road.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner South Javed Nabi Khoso, Deputy Commissioner East Nasrullah Abbasi, Chief Operating Officer of Water and Sewerage Corporation Asadullah Khan, officers and engineers of Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company, and others accompanied him.

The Commissioner reviewed the pace of work, arrangements for alternative routes, repair and replacement of utility lines, and issues of traffic congestion .

The Commissioner said that M.A. Jinnah Road is one of the city’s most important and busiest thoroughfares, and during construction work on this road, alternative routes need to be improved in accordance with traffic requirements. He said that traffic pressure has increased due to the work on the project.

He directed Deputy Commissioner South Javed Nabi Khoso to assist and, in coordination with traffic police and PIDCL, take necessary measures to improve traffic flow. On this occasion, he inspected the installation of utility lines and ongoing carpeting work on few locations.

He was informed that work on the project is progressing rapidly, with 35% of physical work completed.
