RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak on Friday directed all relevant departments to ensure the timely completion of ongoing development projects, stressing improved coordination and strict monitoring of performance.The directive was issued during a meeting of the Divisional Coordination Committee held at the Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Coordination Zenia Humayun, senior officers of revenue and municipal departments, the Chief Officer MCR, Chief Executive Officer of Rawalpindi Waste Management Company, Director Health, and heads of various departments. Deputy commissioners of Jhelum, Murree, Attock, and Chakwal also participated.
The forum reviewed progress on public welfare initiatives, service delivery, and development schemes across the division. The commissioner instructed departments to clear all pending cases on the e-Biz portal within three days, adding that any delays must be accompanied by written explanations.
He also ordered the timely release of funds to the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company to ensure uninterrupted sanitation services, and directed deputy commissioners to identify development projects with maximum public benefit. Furthermore, officials were asked to identify suitable state land for the Punjab government’s farmer support initiative.
Focusing on the health sector, the commissioner directed the department to upgrade facilities in public hospitals, ensure quality healthcare, and strictly monitor staff attendance. He specifically ordered the immediate resolution of the sewerage issue in the basement of Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi to prevent any damage to infrastructure and disruption in patient care.
Emphasising accountability, the commissioner warned that negligence in implementing government policies would not be tolerated and instructed departments to present detailed progress reports in the next meeting.
