Commissioner reviews arrangements for May 8 'Marka-e-Haq' events in Lahore

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan on Wednesday said that the “Marka-e-Haq” celebrations would be marked in a grand manner on May 8 across the city, with a major central event scheduled to be held at Liberty Chowk, Gulberg with open entry for the public.

She made these remarks while chairing a meeting held to review arrangements for the upcoming celebrations. The meeting was attended by officers of relevant district administration departments, including Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ejaz, SSP Operations Taqeer Ahmed, Additional Commissioner Muhammad Arshad Bhatti, and representatives of PHA, Traffic Police and other departments.

The meeting was informed that a main committee under the Additional Deputy Commissioner General Lahore had been constituted to oversee arrangements.

It was further decided that all departments would remain focused on the venue area from Wednesday onward to ensure smooth conduct of the event.

The Commissioner directed that today a committee of the district administration should visit Liberty venue to assess arrangements on site. She stressed that traffic management and parking plans must be ensured in an efficient manner, adding that security, cleanliness, road diversions and municipal arrangements would be managed in a coordinated way. She said that the “Marka-e-Haq” celebrations would be a tribute to a glorious chapter in history and must be organised in a dignified and exemplary manner.
