Commissioner reviews city development,vows zero tolerance for encroachments

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Commissioner Amir Karim Khan on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to review ongoing infrastructure projects and ordered strict action against encroachments and illegal constructions across the city.

The Commissioner stressed zero tolerance for unapproved installations, directing authorities to accelerate removal of illegal structures,including buildings constructed without approval under the limits of the Multan Revenue Authority.

Officials from the Multan Development Authority (MDA) briefed the meeting on key projects.

DG MDA Rashid Irshad said the Metro Bus command and control center project was 95% complete and expected to finish by June 30, 2026.

The Khanewal road widening project has entered the land acquisition phase,while work on converting Brand Road into a modern model road,costing Rs.360 million has begun with 10% physical progress.

The briefing also noted the completion of 10 bus stop shelters,beautification of multiple chowks and 85% progress in the annual road maintenance and beautification program.

The Commissioner directed authorities to prepare a feasibility plan for upgrading major roads into model corridors with advanced monitoring systems and ordered round-the-clock activation of supervisory patrolling squads to ensure compliance.
