SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Thursday visited Mianwali and chaired a meeting at the DC Office Committee room to review progress on development initiatives and administrative matters.
During the meeting, the Commissioner was given a detailed briefing on the Punjab Development Programme, ongoing development schemes, the urban beautification project, land record (khewat mutation) affairs, and recovery of government dues.
Deputy Commissioner Mianwali Asad Abbas Magasi, along with senior administrative and revenue officers, attended the meeting.
On the occasion, the officials informed the Commissioner that development projects worth Rs. 6.45 billion are being executed under the Punjab Development Programme. "These include installation of sewerage lines, rainwater drainage systems, wastewater management, street lighting, road infrastructure, and rehabilitation of two city parks", they added.
It was further highlighted that work has already begun on constructing a drainage system in Mohalla Qadirabad to address rainwater accumulation.
The meeting also reviewed progress on urban beautification and other development schemes.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) briefed the Commissioner on land record management, the PLUS project, and recovery of government dues.
Addressing the participants, the Commissioner stated that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has allocated substantial funds under the Punjab Development Programme to provide long-term solutions for sewerage and sanitation issues. He directed the DC to conduct a comprehensive survey and prepare a revised PC-1 to maximize public benefit from the project.
He also instructed revenue officials to set daily targets to expedite khewat mutation cases and emphasized ensuring 100 percent recovery of government dues.
Later, the Commissioner, along with the Deputy Commissioner and other officers, participated in a tree plantation drive by planting saplings in the DC Office lawn, marking the launch of a local afforestation campaign.
