Commissioner reviews Marka-e-Haq celebrations, Eid cattle market arrangements

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) Commissioner Marryam Khan has chaired a divisional meeting to review arrangements for Marka-e-Haq celebrations, Eidul Azha cattle markets, beautification campaigns and development schemes across the four districts of Lahore Division.

During the meeting, deputy commissioners of Kasur and Nankana Sahib briefed participants regarding Marka-e-Haq celebrations in their respective districts. They informed the meeting that renowned Pakistani singer Sajjad Ali would perform at the grand ceremony being held at Kasur Stadium, while PSL performer and singer Areeba Khan would perform at the grand event in Nankana district.

The meeting was informed that families of martyrs and members of parliament would also participate in the grand ceremony at Kasur Stadium.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Marryam Khan said the enthusiasm and participation of citizens and civil society in Marka-e-Haq celebrations were commendable.

She said a large number of citizens attended the grand ceremony held at Liberty Chowk and paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the armed forces with great zeal and spirit. She said walks, rallies and cycle rallies were continuing in Lahore, Kasur, Nankana Sahib and Sheikhupura in connection with Marka-e-Haq celebrations.

The commissioner said that Eidul Azha cattle markets would be established across all districts from the first of Zilhaj. She said six cattle markets would be set up in Lahore, six in Nankana, eight in Kasur and eight in Sheikhupura.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz, Deputy Commissioner Kasur Asif Muhammad Asif Raza, Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura Shahid Imran Marth, Deputy Commissioner Nankana Rao Tasleem Akhtar, ACG Wajeeha Samreen and other officers.
