Commissioner reviews RODA projects,orders pre-monsoon preparedness

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Divisional CommissionerMarryam Khan on Monday chaired a meeting to review progress on development projects of the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA),directing authorities to expedite preparations in view of the upcoming monsoon season.

The meeting reviewed ongoing development work along the River Ravi with a particular focus on flood preparedness and pre-emptive measures.

Deputy Commissioner(DC) Lahore,Muhammad Ali Ijaz and RUDA CEO Imran Amin attended the meeting,where the latter briefed participants on the status of ongoing and planned development projects.

The commissioner directed RUDA,along with the district administrations of Lahore and Sheikhupura, to ensure coordinated efforts for timely completion of all necessary works.

She said that field visits across project sites would commence this week to review preparedness in view of possible flooding during the monsoon season.

She also stressed the need for immediate readiness regarding the Ravi Riverfront theme park project, directing that a joint inspection team comprising officials from the Irrigation Department,Forest Department,WASA,district administration and RUDA conduct a site visit within the week.

The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Hamid Malhi,ADC Revenue Sheikhupura Usman Jalees, AC Revenue Lahore Aleem Ahmed and RUDA directors.
