Commissioner reviews wheat procurement campaign in Sargodha

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Thursday chaired a meeting of the Divisional Strategic Reserves Management Committee to review the overall situation of the ongoing wheat procurement campaign.

During the meeting, Deputy Director food Mazhar Hussain Baloch briefed participants on procurement targets, progress achieved so far, and challenges being faced in the campaign.

The commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure achievement of the assigned wheat procurement targets at all costs and emphasized that farmers should be provided maximum facilities for timely and transparent sale of their wheat.

He further instructed officials to improve arrangements at procurement centres, ensure the availability of gunny bags (bardana), and prevent inconvenience to farmers during the procurement process.

Hafiz Shaukat Ali said ensuring transparency, merit, and efficiency in the wheat procurement process was the foremost responsibility of the district administration, warning that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated.

Deputy commissioners of all four districts of the division and officers of relevant departments attended the meeting and presented updates regarding performance in their respective areas.
