LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Chairperson Sarah Ahmad on Monday announced a vocational training initiative aimed at empowering children under CPWB care through skill development programs.

Under the vision of Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz Sharif,CPWB has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Skill Nest Institute to provide market-relevant training and promote socio-economic rehabilitation of children residing in its institutions.

The chairperson said the initiative was focused on making children self-reliant and confident by equipping them with modern technical and vocational skills. She said training programs will include information technology, creative arts, beautician courses and other skill-based fields.

She added that three month courses will enable participants to secure dignified employment opportunities, while successful trainees will be awarded nationally recognized certificates.

Sarah Ahmad said steps were being taken to ensure rehabilitation and financial independence of children under CPWB care,adding that a safe,respectful and child-friendly learning environment would be ensured.

She further said both institutions would jointly monitor and evaluate the training process to ensure transparency and effectiveness,terming the initiative a reflection of the government’s commitment to providing vulnerable children with protection as well as opportunities for a better future.
