Crackdown launched against transporters overcharging, overloading ahead of Eid

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) The district administration Tank has launched a crackdown against transporters who are charging excess fares from passengers in view of expected rush during eid holidays.

In this regard, Additional Assistants Commissioner Tank, Malik Sajid Ali, along with the Incharge Traffic Police Tank against overcharging of fares and overloading of passengers. During the operation, various vehicles were inspected.

Passengers were questioned regarding fares, and any extra amount charged by drivers beyond the government-approved rates was identified and returned to the passengers.

Moreover, fines were imposed on drivers found violating the rules through the traffic police. On this occasion, the AAC said that strict compliance with government-prescribed fares will be ensured at all costs.

He instructed all drivers to refrain from overcharging and from carrying extra passengers, so that safe, comfortable, and improved travel facilities can be ensured for the citizens.
