ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) The district administration on Friday has intensified its crackdown against the sale of non-custom paid cigarettes and illegal study materials, carrying out inspections across different areas of the city.
Additional Assistant Commissioners Afshan Rehman and Muhammad Tariq led the operation, targeting stationery shops and other business centers. During inspections, authorities recovered and confiscated pocket guides and micro-guides, while two stationery shops were sealed for violations.
Officials also conducted price control and hygiene checks at bakeries, milk shops, general stores, chicken outlets, and pakora shops.
Several violations were noted, resulting in fines, while shopkeepers were directed to strictly follow cleanliness and food safety standards.
In a special drive around examination centers, action was taken against the sale of cigarettes and unauthorized study material within a 50-meter radius to ensure a fair and safe environment for students.
The district administration stated that such operations will continue to safeguard public interest and maintain regulatory compliance across the district.
