Crackdown on profiteers continues in Sialkot

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) The district administration continued its crackdown against profiteers across the district during

Ramadan. So far, 1,469 profiteers had been fined a total of Rs 3.4 million.

According to a spokesperson for the DC Office, from Feb 19 to Mar 13, authorities conducted 67,618

inspections across the district.

During these operations, 33 profiteers were arrested and 16 shops were sealed, while 10,947 shopkeepers

were issued warnings for violating price regulations.

The administration also took action against tandoor owners for overcharging for roti. As many as 250 Naan Bias

were fined Rs336,000 for selling roti at higher prices, while two were arrested.

Meanwhile, 6,790 bakeries were inspected across the district. As many as 151 bakery owners were fined Rs151,000 for profiteering, while 1,446 were issued warnings.
