QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Chief Secretary (CS) Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan on Tuesday presided over a meeting of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Working Group for ensuring implementation of this initiative soon.
Detailed discussions were held on the development of SMEs in the province, financial support, market access and solutions to challenges during the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting that new policies would be formulated to promote SMEs, training programs could be started and easy loan facilities to be provided to the public for their businesses through Akhuwat Foundation.
These measures would play an important role in the economic development of the province and increase employment opportunities.
The Chief Secretary directed the participants to ensure immediate implementation of this initiative so that modern opportunities are available to the small and medium entrepreneurs of Balochistan
He said that the provincial government is working on a priority basis regarding the promotion of small and medium enterprises, while professional training of labor is very important for the SME sector, for which 4,320 youth would be provided professional and technical training.
He said that through enterprise development, 180 SMEs should be developed through Enterprise Dev and 57,000 youth should be strengthened with business skills and capabilities at the district level through the Youth Development Program.
Secretary Industries Khalid Sarpara, Secretary Agriculture Dawood Khilji, Secretary Livestock Muhammad Tayyab Lahri and others were present in the meeting.
