CTO distributes umbrellas to wardens amid heatwave

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi on Thursday distributed umbrellas among traffic wardens in view of the rising heat, directing them to take precautionary measures while performing duty.

According to City Traffic Police spokesman, the initiative was aimed at facilitating wardens who remain on roads in all weather conditions to ensure smooth flow of traffic and public convenience.

The CTO said that the wardens were at the forefront in serving citizens despite harsh weather, adding that ensuring welfare and well-being of the force was the department’s responsibility.

He advised traffic wardens to take care of their health during duty hours and make use of umbrellas to protect themselves from extreme heat.

Shirazi also directed all personnel to carry water bottles in view of the high temperatures.

He further instructed field staff to remain mindful of their health alongside fulfilling their professional responsibilities.
