CTP intensifies crackdown on illegal Friday Vehicle Bazaar on Murree Road

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi have stepped up an indiscriminate crackdown against the illegal Jumma Bazaar of vehicles operating along Murree Road, vowing zero tolerance for activities that disrupt public movement.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam said the makeshift vehicle market has no legal standing and has repeatedly been warned to cease operations. Despite this, vendors continue to park and display vehicles along the busy corridor, causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to commuters.

To enforce the operation, over 49 traffic personnel, supported by two lifters, have been deployed to clear encroachments and ensure smooth traffic flow.

The crackdown is being carried out without discrimination, targeting all violators.

The CTO urged citizens to avoid creating difficulties for others for the sake of temporary convenience, stressing that public cooperation is essential for maintaining order on the roads. “Our priority is to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow while protecting the rights of all road users,” he added.

He further emphasized that achieving a disciplined traffic system requires collective responsibility, adding that all available resources are being utilized to keep traffic moving efficiently across the city.
