Daily public hearings initiated to resolve citizens’ issues

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the district administration

has accelerated the implementation of its open-door policy to ensure the prompt and

effective resolution of public issues.

As part of the initiative, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza had begun holding

daily public meetings, allowing citizens to present their concerns directly without hesitation.

These sessions, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, had seen strong participation

from residents across the district, particularly those from remote areas. Citizens submitted

applications addressing a wide range of individual and collective issues, including matters

related to revenue, health, education, municipal services, police, and other departments.

During the meetings, the Deputy Commissioner issued on-the-spot directives to the relevant

officials for the immediate resolution of complaints. He emphasized that negligence or delays

in addressing public grievances would not be tolerated.

He further stated that the Primary

objective of the district administration was to provide relief to citizens and resolve their issues

on a priority basis.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated that ensuring public service,

in accordance with the Chief Minister’s directives, remains the administration’s top priority.

Under the open-door policy, every citizen had the right to directly communicate their concerns,

and the administration was taking this responsibility seriously.

Participants in the meetings appreciated the open-door policy, expressing satisfaction that

they were able to present their issues directly to a senior district official for the first time.

They described the initiative as a positive and welcome step. The Bahawalpur district administration

has also clarified that an effective monitoring system had been established to ensure the timely

resolution of public complaints. Progress on each application was being regularly reviewed

to deliver prompt and meaningful relief to citizens.
