DC Attock chairs SWMA meeting, orders monsoon preparedness, enhanced cleanliness

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Attock Raza Naqvi chaired an important meeting of the Solid Waste Management Authority to review monsoon preparedness, sanitation arrangements, drainage management, urban service delivery, and the implementation of the special cleanliness campaign launched under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab..

According to APP correspondent, the DC said ensuring effective sanitation, timely drainage of rainwater, and cleaning of drains and nullahs during the monsoon are foremost responsibilities of the concerned departments.

He directed officers to complete preventive measures in vulnerable and low-lying areas, markets, major roads, and densely populated localities before heavy rains to prevent urban flooding and public inconvenience.

He instructed that sanitation staff, machinery, and all resources remain fully operational for any emergency, stressing that negligence in official duties will not be tolerated. The meeting also reviewed initiatives to make Attock cleaner, greener, and more aesthetically appealing in line with the Chief Minister’s directives.

The Deputy Commissioner ordered maintenance of the highest cleanliness standards at major roads, intersections, government offices, public places, parks, and commercial areas.

Special emphasis was placed on exemplary sanitation at District Headquarters Hospital and all Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals, including emergency blocks, wards, entrance areas, waiting halls, and surrounding premises.

He further directed strict implementation of all directives issued by the Chief Minister Punjab and daily monitoring of sanitation-related activities. Prompt resolution of public complaints, continuous improvement of sanitation services, and quality municipal services should remain top priorities, he said, urging officers to work with dedication and professionalism.

At the conclusion, all District Managers and Tehsil Managers assured the Deputy Commissioner of their full commitment to implementing the monsoon preparedness plan, ensuring effective sanitation and drainage management, enhancing urban beautification, and complying with the Chief Minister’s directives. They reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen the sanitation system across the district.
