DC Benazirabad chairs meeting regarding rain emergency alert

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, chaired an important meeting regarding rain emergency alert Wednesday at Durbar Hall.

While addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner said that Meteorological Department and PDMA have forecast heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning in the district from March 26 to March 30. He said that the purpose of meeting was to review advance preparations in view of expected rains and to devise a coordinated strategy to effectively deal with any emergency situation.

Deputy Commissioner directed all relevant departments to keep their machinery, staff, and resources fully alert to ensure timely drainage of rainwater and to prevent inconvenience to citizens. He also instructed all municipal and town administrations to ensure the functionality of drainage systems, carry out cleaning of drains, and pay special attention to low-lying areas.

DC directed HESCO officials to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during rains and to respond promptly in case of any emergency.

Rescue 1122 and other concerned departments were also instructed to remain fully prepared to handle any emergency situation. Deputy Commissioner emphasized that protection of life and property of public is the top priority of district administration, and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Municipal Corporation Qazi Muhammad Rashid Bhatti, Chairman Town Committee Syed Atif Zaidi, all town officers, SSP Sameer Noor Channa, Chairman District Council Ali Akbar Jamali, PPP District President Muhammad Salim Zardari, In-charge Zardari House Mir Muhammad Siyal, Deputy Director Livestock Dr. Aijaz Hussain Laghari, Deputy Director Poultry Dr. Tariq Noorani, District Manager PPHI Zakir Hussain Samo, SE HESCO Farman Ali Dahani, Assistant Commissioners of all tehsils and representatives from Police, Local Government, Public Health, Rescue 1122, Health, Social Welfare, Jail, and other departments.
