DC chairs meeting on Reduction of transport prices for Vehicles

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Larkana, Tariq Manzoor Chandio, has approved a reduction in transport fares on various routes within the district and for vehicles traveling from Larkana to other cities.

In this regard, a meeting was held on Tuesday under his chairmanship, attended by Additional DC-I Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, Assistant Commissioners of Larkana Raja Khan Qureshi district, DSP Ahmed Bux Rahoojo representing the police department, Municipal Commissioner Dr Javed Anwar Abbasi, Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority Ijaz Ahmed Soomro, representatives of the Motorway Police Larkana, Traffic Sergeants of Larkana Zone, the President of the Transport Union, the President of the Sofa Union, the President of the Goods Transport Union of Larkana Division, and others.

During the meeting, the Secretary of the Transport Authority briefed participants on the previously notified fares and the newly proposed fares. Following the reduction in fuel prices, the chair decided that the fare to Karachi would be reduced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,550, Hyderabad from Rs 1,600 to Rs 1,300, and Sukkur from Rs 350 to Rs 250. New fares for other cities were also fixed.

Freight transport charges per ton will be determined according to the reduction in petrol prices. In line with the policy, a notification regarding the new fares has also been issued. The DC of Larkana directed all concerned officials and transport union leaders to ensure the implementation of the new fare notification.
