MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Dr Muhammad Faisal Saleem on Friday chaired a meeting of the District Coordination Committee to review the implementation of the Punjab government's good governance model and finalize a coordinated strategy for improving public service delivery across the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rashid Iqbal, senior officers of the district administration and representatives of relevant Federal and provincial departments, focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely relief to the public and effective enforcement of government policies.
The deputy commissioner directed all departments to work in close coordination to improve governance and resolve public issues without delay, saying that effective service delivery, rule of law and responsive administration remained the district administration's foremost priorities.
He ordered a zero-tolerance policy against one-wheeling and instructed the authorities concerned to launch a vigorous crackdown against violators to ensure road safety. He also directed strict enforcement of traffic laws and emphasized making helmet use mandatory for motorcyclists.
Dr Faisal Salim instructed the relevant departments to intensify indiscriminate action against illegal LPG refilling outlets and the business of unsafe gas cylinders, terming such activities a serious threat to public safety.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The meeting also decided to make anti-encroachment operations more effective and accelerate the retrieval of state land from illegal occupants. The deputy commissioner further directed authorities to expedite the joint campaign against professional beggary and ensure strict action against organised begging networks.
He called for expanding operations against environmental polluters, directing the departments concerned to take firm action against elements contributing to environmental degradation.
Reviewing the anti-smuggling campaign, the deputy commissioner instructed officials to adopt effective measures to curb the illegal transportation and trade of smuggled goods. He also reiterated that strict legal action would continue against individuals involved in narcotics trafficking.
The deputy commissioner further directed the authorities to broaden the ongoing tree plantation campaign by ensuring active participation of government departments as well as citizens to promote a greener and healthier environment.
He stressed that coordinated efforts among all institutions were essential for delivering tangible public relief and achieving the Punjab government's vision of efficient, transparent and people-centric governance.
