KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz on Monday presided over a meeting of the District Vigilance Committee to review ongoing measures aimed at curbing child labour and human trafficking in the district. The session brought together the District Officer Social Welfare, police representatives, the Public Prosecutor, and officials from other relevant line departments.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a comprehensive assessment of the prevailing situation concerning forced labour involving minors and the mechanisms in place to prevent human trafficking. He stressed the urgent need for coordinated and intelligence-based action to identify individuals or networks exploiting children and to ensure strict legal proceedings against those found guilty.
Participants agreed on adopting a joint strategy focused on strengthening monitoring systems, enhancing field inspections, and improving inter-departmental communication. The committee resolved to intensify vigilance to effectively curb violations and safeguard vulnerable segments of society.
The district administration has urged citizens to report any information related to child labour or human trafficking to the DC Office Control Room at 0922-920268 and 0922-920032. Reaffirming the government’s firm commitment, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that protecting children’s rights and ensuring strict enforcement of labour laws remain top priorities across the district.
