DC orders 24/7 readiness for monsoon emergencies

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddique on Friday reviewed operational preparedness of Monsoon Control Center and directed Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) officials to maintain round-the-clock vigilance, keep dewatering machinery fully operational and ensure prompt resolution of public complaints to minimize disruption during monsoon season.

During his visit to WASA Monsoon Control Center, he examined the complaint management system, response mechanism and overall operational preparedness for rain-related emergencies.

Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza, Deputy Managing Director (Engineering) Engr. Shoaib Zia, Deputy Director Development Syed Naveed Shah and other senior officers were also present.

Deputy Director CRC Muhammad Ameen Dogar briefed the deputy commissioner on the working of the Monsoon Control Center including its monitoring system and complaint-handling procedures.

The deputy commissioner appreciated the performance of the control center and stressed the need to maintain prompt and quality service delivery throughout the monsoon season.

He directed operations officers and field staff to remain on high alert to deal with any emergency situation arising from heavy rainfall.

He also ordered that dewatering sets and all other essential machinery be kept fully functional to ensure an immediate response whenever required.

Muhammad Nauman Siddique further instructed WASA officials to keep all disposal stations operating at full capacity so that rainwater could be drained in the shortest possible time, reducing the risk of urban flooding and inconvenience to citizens.

On the occasion, Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza assured the deputy commissioner that quick possible drainage of accumulated rainwater would remain top priority of the agency during monsoon season.

All available resources would be utilized to provide an effective response and facilitate residents during the periods of heavy rainfall, he added.
