RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Murree, Agha Zaheer Abbas chaired an important District Emergency board meeting on Thursday to review arrangements for public safety amid adverse weather.
The meeting focused on protecting local residents, tourists, and ensuring continuity of basic services, while preparing for any emergency situation.
Special instructions were issued for Good Friday (April 3) and Easter (April 5), including the development of a comprehensive security plan.
Heads of all relevant departments briefed on emergency response readiness, traffic management, rescue and medical facilities, electricity and gas supply, sanitation, security, and tourist guidance.
The DC directed all departments to remain on high alert, maintain field presence and keep control rooms and help desks fully operational. Special teams were deployed at tourist spots, and real-time weather updates are being shared via social media and helplines. Citizens were urged to drive cautiously and report emergencies to Rescue 1122 or district control rooms.
Moreover, instructions were also given to tackle any possible weather situation amid meteorological department alert.
