FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir chaired an important meeting to devise measures to provide the
maximum relief to the general public.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Anwar Ali, Assistant Commissioners City and Saddar, Secretary DRTA, representatives of public and goods transporters, Kissan Ittehad, trader community and officers of relevant departments were also present.
The deputy commissioner made it clear that unjustified increase in transport fares would not be tolerated and all stakeholders must play their due role in ensuring public facilitation.
He observed that the rise in petroleum prices was a global issue and stressed the need for collective efforts
to mitigate its effects.
He also directed the authorities to maintain a balance between demand and supply in the markets to prevent price volatility.
The meeting decided to implement daily monitoring of transport fares and essential commodity prices to ensure compliance with official rates and provide relief to the public.
