Scores of PTI workers join PPP in Malakand

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Dozens of PTI workers at Qaldara Sulgaro locality in district Malakand on Sunday have announced joining PPP after expressing their lack of confidence in the leaders of their party and elected legislators from the ara.

The announcement was made during a big public meeting with PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial chief Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha as the special guest.

Beside Tehsil President of the PPP Haji Muhammad Tayyab, Pir Hijab, Kifayat and Hayat Khan were also present on the occasion.

Those who resigned from the PTI and joined the Pakistan People’s Party, severely criticized the performance of the provincial government and the PTI representatives who were continuously elected from Malakand, calling it disappointing.

They expressed full confidence in the leadership of Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha and said that most of the problems of the people were resolved during his previous tenures.

Addressing the ceremony, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha said that the leadership of the PTI had pushed the province decades behind other provinces in the field of development. During the PTI government, he said, the only elected representative and a few specific personalities have made progress, while the problems of millions of people remained the same. Political consciousness has been awakened among the people and in the upcoming elections, they will take them to task with the power of their votes, he added.
