SANGHAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sarah Javed on Monday chaired a meeting of the District Apex Committee/National Action Plan at the DC Office, where a detailed review of measures taken over the past month was conducted and fresh directives were issued to improve enforcement.
Addressing officials, the deputy commissioner directed all relevant departments to enhance performance in line with decisions taken under the National Action Plan. She instructed police authorities to launch an immediate crackdown against professional beggars operating across the district.
The traffic police were directed to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city and impose heavy fines on violators. Law enforcement agencies and other concerned departments were further asked to intensify operations against non-custom-paid goods, illegal vehicles and smuggling.
The deputy commissioner also directed food department officials to ensure the supply of wheat to licensed flour mills under the allocated quota and make it mandatory for them to set up subsidised flour stalls to provide relief to the public.
During the meeting, officials from various departments briefed participants on progress made regarding implementation of Apex Committee decisions.
Deputy Director of the Benazir Income Support Programme, Mir Shakeel Ahmed Talpur, urged deserving women to obtain their digital wallet SIMs at the earliest to ensure transparent and timely disbursement of financial assistance.
Assistant Commissioner Yaseen Abbasi, along with representatives of law enforcement agencies and other departments, attended the meeting.
