DC Sargodha orders upgradation of vegetable, fruit market

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sargodha, Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry has decided to upgrade the cities’s vegetable and fruit market, directing authorities to install uniform sheds and tough tiles to improve infrastructure and overall appearance.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by the DC here on Thursday to review issues related to the market, including cleanliness, infrastructure development, and modernization efforts.

Officials from the Market Committee, along with representatives of the trader community, attended the session.

During the meeting, it was decided that sheds and signboards of uniform size and design would be installed to give the market a more organized and aesthetically pleasing look.

The DC also stressed the need to further improve sanitation work and address problems faced during the rainy season on a priority basis.

Participants were informed that certain traders’ court cases and payment issues are still pending.

The DC directed officials to consult all stakeholders and devise practical solutions to ensure that development work is not delayed.

He also issued instructions to expand the installation of tough tiles, introduce a filtration system, repair roads, and improve the drainage system within the market.

Additionally, directives were given for whitewashing shops, adopting a uniform structural model, and installing gate designs to enhance the overall environment.

The meeting was further informed that the establishment of a new vegetable market is under consideration to meet the growing needs of the city.

Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Sher Gondal, Market Committee officials, and representatives of the trader community were present at the meeting.
