DC SBA chairs meeting of SICVD Management Committee

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani, chaired a meeting of the Management Committee of Sindh Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (SICVD), Shaheed Benazirabad, Thursday at his office. Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner ssid that establishment of SICVD in Nawabshah by Government of Sindh is a valuable gift for heart patients. He said that under SICVD, free and quality medical treatment facilities are being provided to public, especially patients suffering from cardiac diseases. DC emphasized that formation of management committee will further improve administrative affairs.

DC informed that Government of Sindh has constituted this committee to ensure effective provision of healthcare services at SICVD.

The Executive Director of SICVD has been appointed as Chairman of the committee, while District Health Officer Shaheed Benazirabad, a representative of Deputy Commissioner, and other relevant officers and experts have been included as members. During the meeting, it was shared that management committee would oversee overall functioning of the institution and formulate key policy recommendations.

In case of any irregularity or issue, the committee would submit its recommendations to the governing body. Deputy Commissioner directed committee members to maintain close coordination with the Health Department, Government of Sindh, and to further improve institutional performance.

He also instructed that quarterly reports be submitted to Secretary Health. Meeting reaffirmed the commitment to further improve healthcare facilities in Shaheed Benazirabad and to ensure timely and quality medical services for the public.

Briefing the participants, SICVD Incharge Dr Aslam Zardari informed that the hospital was formally inaugurated by Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Provincial Minister for Health Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho. He said that quality cardiac care services are being provided to patients. The OPD operates daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Over the past three months, more than 700 cardiac patients have undergone angioplasty and received treatment, while over 2,000 patients have been treated in the OPD. He highlighted that there is a need for PGs doctors, consultants, and clinical fellows at the hospital, and a request has been sent to the Government of Sindh for their recruitment.

The committee members assured full cooperation in resolving issues and ensuring better healthcare services for patients. The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr Mudassar Hussain, Chaudhry Zafar Arain, Muhammad Azeem Mughal, Dr Muhammad Sadiq Siyal, Admin Officer Dr Aftab Memon, Ghulam Nabi Channa, and other committee members.
