SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz,Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali and District Police Officer Captain (Retired) Dost Muhammad on Wednesday distributed sweets among residents of welfare institutions, shelter homes, Child Protection Bureau,SOS Village,prisoners and patients in hospitals across Sialkot on Eid-ul-Azha.
The officials visited various welfare facilities and jails,conveyed Eid greetings and interacted with inmates and underprivileged individuals as part of Eid celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion,DC Saba Asghar Ali said the initiative aimed to ensure that no segment of society was left out of Eid-ul-Azha festivities,adding that orphans,destitute children,women,patients and prisoners deserved special care and compassion.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>She said Eid-ul-Azha carries the message of sacrifice, empathy and brotherhood,urging citizens to remember underprivileged segments of society during festive occasions.
At the Child Protection Bureau(CPB),the DC and DPO also performed animal sacrifice along with children spent time with them and offered special prayers for national stability, peace and prosperity.
They also prayed for the success of the Pakistan Armed Forces and overall development of the country.
Later,the officials visited Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital, where they distributed sweets among patients,especially children and prayed for their early recovery.
Patients and attendants appreciated the gesture, terming it a positive expression of compassion and public service on Eid-ul-Azha.
